Do you have a weak Immune System?

We are heading into our winter months and with that usually comes colds and the flu.

In the last few years with Covid lingering all around us, we have all had to take more precautions and have been more aware of our habits that can help us stay healthier, like washing our hands more often, eating healthier and taking supplements and herbs to stave off infections.

It is normal for adults to have 2 to 3 colds each year, and while most bounce back quickly, some seem to take what seems like, forever to recover.

Here are some signs that your immune system could be compromised:

  • Your stress level is high
  • You always seem to have a cold
  • You have lots of gut troubles
  • Wounds heal slowly
  • You have frequent infections
  • You feel tired all the time
  • You are Anemic
  • High Allergic responses
  • Have joint pain
  • Have had Chemotherapy
  • Have a chronic illness like Lupus or Arthritis

If you have the above warning signals, you may need to give your immune system an extra boost. Making a few lifestyle adjustments and creating some new habits can naturally keep your immune system healthy.

Here are some suggestions to boost your immune system:

  • Eat a balanced diet
  • Add more fruits and veggies
  • Add the good fats like Omega-3 like found in olive oil and salmon
  • Get regular exercise
  • Get moving – Stand and take that call. Try not to sit too long
  • Get the proper amount of sleep each night
  • Minimize your stress – Meditation is a great way to manage this.
  • Enjoy your friends, family and even our pets
  • Drink in moderation
  • Don’t smoke

Stay vigilant this season and stay healthy by taking the time to take care of YOU!
